Kate B - Helias Senior - Jefferson City, MO Senior Photographer

A few weeks ago, I finally got the pleasure of photographing a Helias senior named Kate. With the lack of rain we’ve had this year, I did not expect our shoot date to get post-poned because of heavy rainfall like it did! Kate’s mom and I had planned to reschedule for the following Wednesday, but Mother Nature almost seemed like she didn’t want this senior session to go down since she was planning to rain on our parade again. Luckily, we were able to get Kate’s session in the day before the second set of rain came! Kate was the only senior I was able to photograph with the colorful fall leaves this year. After the rain came the day after Kate’s session, the leaves already started turning brown, and some of the trees had lost half their leaves. Kate, you are definately lucky we got your shoot in when we did! This year has seen more in-studio work for me, primarily because of seniors needing photos for the yearbook. Kate’s session started off at the studio, where a five minute indoor shoot turned into almost half an hour. I’m not complaining though! I’ve never been big on studio photography, but as anybody who has worked with me could tell you, when I say “One more shot.”, what I really mean is we’ll do one more shot before another idea pops into my head – and then we’ll do that one too… followed by the next… and the next! After the studio photos were done, Kate, her mom and I head out to their home just a few miles from the studio where we were able to take full advantage of the beautiful fall colors on and around their property. Most people want the colorful fall setting but few actually get it. Thankfully, this was one of the few sessions that actually worked out with the changing colors. I’m thrilled to say the least! Enjoy!
